Hub connection

In the past our telephone was in the hallway and the hub in a separate room.

A technician came yesterday and now we have the phone line plugged into the hub in the separate room.  All is working fine, but in the past I have always turned the power off on the hub overnight or when away for any length of time. Turning it off now means that the phone will not work.

My question is simply this: is it ok to leave the hub switched on permanently, i.e. 24/7?

Yes, it is, and it needs to be on for your phone to work.   All my networking kit is on 24/7 btw.
