Hub 4 & Booster

Virgin contacted us a few days ago to say that we were eligible to upgrade our router to a Hub 4, from a Hub 3.0.

It has arrived today, and I set it up without any issues. I have managed to connect phones, tablets, laptop, etc.

However, we always used a booster with the 3.0 as the signal in the back part of the house was very weak.

I have tried to set up the booster tonight, and cannot get it to work.

The model is a Wavlink WL-WN578R2, I have followed the instructions from their manual on how to connect, but all that happens is the WLAN light flashes.

I would be grateful for any suggestions on how to get this working, as without it we are unable to use certain wifi-dependent equipment in the kitchen.

Are there any settings within the Hub 4 that need to be adjusted?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Hub 4 & Booster

Treat yourself to a new booster, that model is pretty obsolete.

Some customers can get free ones from VM

Re: Hub 4 & Booster

Thanks for the quick response!

I did wonder if that would be the answer - would any of the boosters on sale today work with the Hub 4, or do I need to look out for certain specifications?

Re: Hub 4 & Booster

Could a moderator contact me please as I have the same issue as Richd76 below (have just installed Hub 4 but WiFi upstairs v. slow but wasn't an issue with hub 3 as was able to use connect app to scan/boost wifi which resolved the problem). When I phone VM they don't understand the issue, they sent me an email with 3 win tips, 2 of which related to using the connect app which doesn't even work with hub 4!!  When I asked about them sending me a booster they said their boosters are not compatible with hub 4! I work from home in upstairs bedroom so need better WiFi service, please help!
