Hub 3 set up

Tuning in

Hi, I received the broadband wifi hub 3 today and I've been trying to connect it myself. I was told on the phone while I was making the order that I should be able to do the set-up myself as there are facilities in my flat for connection, but I am struggling to get it to work. I only found an openreach mastersocket 5c in the flat. I don't see a virgin media wall socket. The openreach socket can take a landline cable or an ethernet cable. I tried to connect the hub with an ethernet cable to the socket but the base light has been flashing green for over an hour now. Can anyone give me any advice on how to make the connection work? Have you checked to make sure there is no other kind of connection? Sometimes there is no wall box, just a trailing cable. The cable could be hidden within, or behind, furniture. Occasionally only a very short stub of wire is left behind often hidden within a blanked-off fitting. The wall box may be branded with the logos of an old cable TV company (not VM). Past occupiers of your property may have removed the cable and sometimes they are removed by other installers, such as satellite TV techs.

If you have a plastic omnibox outside on the wall (where the VM cable comes in from the street) see if you can trace any wires from that into your home.

You will only have been sent a QuickStart pack if the premises previously had VM. The box and cables may have been removed by the previous occupiers. There should be an omnibox, often brown or gray, on the outside of the premises, try tracing the cable/s from it. Hi thanks for your help. Upon further search in the flat, I found these two things. The cables are near where the old tv box is and the socket doesn't fit with the cable that came with the kit. I am not sure what they are. Do you have any clue?near the old tv boxnear the old tv boxa wall socketa wall socket

Call the pre-installs team, none of those are VM connections.
