How to get cable installed in a new area?

I'm going to be moving to an area that doesn't have cable installed as it's a new estate, but other parts of the town do. Is there any way in which Virgin Media can be convinced to extend their service to the new estate? The rest of the town is covered, so it shouldn't be a monolithic job...

Re: How to get cable installed in a new area?

Virgin cannot and will not dig up the roads in a new development.  They can only connect up if the developer has put in suitable ducts for the cables.

If your developer has done so, I would expect Virgin to be looking at the economics of extending their reach.

just to add to what jpeg1 said, even with if the cabling is added still takes a massive amount of work behind the scenes, the cabling is the easy part, and with the current situation, doubt would be any time soon, you can register https://www.virginmedia.com/help/registermyinterest and get the area to sign up as well.
