High number of errors

Hi, if possible please can a moderator have a look at my line. I have been getting hundreds/thousands of Pre RS errors which build up daily and sometimes I get hundreds of Post RS errors but not all of the time. I also get quite a lot of T3 timeouts. These numbers are after about 7 days. Thanks

Re: High number of errors

Pre-RS errors are nothing to worry about, they are corrected by the hub "on the fly".  Post-RS errors would be much more worrying, but 2 in a week isn't normally an indication of trouble.  The T3 count is a concern - these suggest an upstream problem, and that would often be associated with brief interruptions to your connection, although it is possible to have a few T3 errors and notice nothing amiss.

Are you actually experiencing a problem?

Re: High number of errors

Thanks for the reply. I personally haven't noticed any drops etc but my partner has, she's working from home and had quite a few short disconnections via WiFi. I just put it down to her laptop but I'm wondering if those T3 timeouts are the cause. Hopefully someone will be able to have a look at my line. Cheers again 👍

Re: High number of errors

Your line appears fine, so I would put it down at the moment to your WiFi.

If you get a drop whilst connected via ethernet to the hub then for sure come back us.

Re: High number of errors

You can setup a quality monitor (BQM) over at https://www.thinkbroadband.com/broadband/monitoring/quality that'll show if anything is going on with your VM connection.  Post a LINK to a LIVE, SHARED graph here and we'll see what's happening.  Usually needs to run for 24 hours before we can draw reasonable conclusions, but the live graph will continuously update so you can post the link immediately.  And it creates a record that you can go back to if that becomes necessary.

Re: High number of errors

Hi Blue1561,

Thanks for getting in touch and welcome to the Community Forum! I'm sorry that you're having some issues with your broadband connection.

I've been able to locate your account using your Forum details. Our system does show some issues with your wireless connectivity. Could you please confirm that your Hub is out in the open, clear from obstacles, and away from any other electrical equipment? Could you also try performing a pinhole reset of your Hub?

Kind regards,

Laurie
