Failed installation and strange activation dates

Hi all, hopefully someone can shed some light.

I've had the broadband + TV + phone bundle delivered yesterday. The hub 3 has been flashing green for over 24 hours. Called the activation line yesterday, was asked to wait until the following day for it to be active but the hub is still flashing green. Called again today as apparently the activation hadn't gone through and is showing as 'pending'. Not sure what to do as I'm working from home and this is a huge inconvenience. Checked the status for my postcode and it seems all is active within the area. We also have the virgin media isolator box so not sure of the actual issue. 

I've also been informed that the TV box won't be activated until the 12th, the contract start date is the 3rd. Is this normal?! It seems I'll be unable to use any of the services being charged for before the 'cooling-off period'. 

Really disappointed thus far. Each customer service call has taken over an hour to go round in circles.
