External works

Hi

I have ordered virgin broadband to be set up in my new build home which I get the keys for on the 19th feb. Can someone tell me what external works mean? I got a text this morning asking if its ok for them to do, but obviously they cant do anything to the house until the 19th when I get the keys and its legally mine.

thanks

Re: External works

Hello

External work is running the cable from the nearest green box to the front of the property there is no need to gain access to the property.

Is VM putting their infrastructure in as part of the new estate build?

If not I'm struggling to understand how you've been able to sign up with them!

Re: External works

Im not sure, its let me sign up etc. And the developers are on virgin medias list of partners (countryside) and no other broadband provider is currently available for the property.

It's worth contacting the developers to check.

If VM is being put in place there is nothing to worry about.

Re: External works

Cheers, the house is already built so if it hasnt been done already then it probably wont be done now.

As I said before if VM isn't in the estate you will not be getting it as they use their own infrastructure!

If you can visit the property check for boxes like this:
