External works before broadband and phone installation - what do they involve?
I've been informed that Virgin Media needs to do some 'external work' at my property before my broadband and phone can be installed. What does this work usually entail, and how close do the property do they need to be able to access?
I ask because I have a front terrace area accessible via a gate which I usually lock when I am out. I do not want my installation to be delayed and am concerned that if I lock the gate on the day they come to do the external work, the work will not be able to be completed.
It's probably a trivial question and I can easily leave the gate open whilst I go to work if needed, but in an ideal world I dont want to compromise security any more than necessary!
