Hi. I'm a first time customer having left sky after 10 years, I had virgin media 1 gig broadband installed a couple days ago, everything is fine except the brown box cover is missing from outside exposing the wires to the elements.
Plus the engineer didn't apply any sealant and cover to the wire going in property which may cause water to seep in.
I asked to replace brown box and sealant but Engineer refused to put new one and sealant as his excuse was it was dark and he was getting late for his next appointment.

Sealant is not required for these omniboxs. The cables are very robust. Sealant should be applied to any holes into the property however.
A VM Mod will pick this up in a couple of days to discuss.

Thanks, you are right, the engineer didn't seal the hole where the wire is going into property.

I have a similar problem and used the live chat on virgin media website to book an engineer visit. The agent said at the end that you can also book an engineer visit if you login to your account but I couldn't find that

Hello Shamus7.
Thank you for bringing this to your attention.
This is not a great introduction to Virgin Media.
Would you mind if I sent you a private message to arrange a return visit and also pass feedback on the installers manager.
If you can check the Logo top right of your screen that would be great.
Regards

Thanks for those details Shamus7.
Glad we have been able to agree on a time and date to come back out and fix the cover and seal the cabling.
Please can you let me know how the visit goes.
