Ethernet Cable says "Unidentified" suddenly

Whilst working on my computer today, after a couple of hours of the Ethernet cable being connected to my laptop and working really well, all of a sudden it stopped working.

The error message shows "unidentified network" and "no internet". I have a hub 3 and think this is bizarre because there is another computer in the house which doesn't experience this issue. 

Wifi is working fine, albeit this also has sudden drop outs in connection where the speed goes to 0mbps even though I have paid for 500mbps speed.

Any help would be much appreciated. 

Please note the modem is in "Router mode".

Downstream way too high. 

Check with Area faults on  www.virginmedia.com/servicechecker or 0800 561 0061 If you have a VM landline 150

If no faults found:

Call Customer Services on 0345 454 1111/150 if you have a VM landline or wait a day or two for a VM staff member to get to your post.

Post the power levels and network logs from the Hub please.  Also setup a BQM to monitor your incoming circuit here  www.thinkbroadband.com/ping

Sorry to hear that you have been having connection issues. How has things been since your post?
I have run a remote diagnostic and have not been able to identify any issues with your connection.

Have you tried a factory reset of your hub to see if that helps with the 'unidentified' reading?  https://www.virginmedia.com/help/virgin-media-reset-your-hub
