Engineer install - 20 year old cable to the property

I heard today the outside work has been completed and the engineer install will happen as scheduled on the 14th June. 

My concern is that there is no visible sign of any outside work. But 20 years ago there was a t&t cable to our property. The outside box is broken and open to the elements.

will this old cable do the job (broadband and phone only) or should I get someone to look at it before the install date?
