Does having a virgin fibre cable mean i can only be with virgin?

Hello,

I'm sure this is pretty obvious to others but ive received conflicting advice about this.

I'm moving to a rented property that's 'just had a virgin fibre cable installed'. Those are the exact words from the landlord. Unfortunately he's away for a few days but id like to know if that means i can only be with virgin or maybe other companies that are compatible with virgin fibre cables?

Virgin Media uses a different infrastructure from all other broadband suppliers.

You can contract Virgin Media to install on the existing connection or get another supplier to install their product.
