Do i have to pay for activation fees again if contract was terminated with virgin a few weeks ago

Uni student, and since tenants no longer live there they wanted to cancel the contract however i want to get virgin broadband again for a month or two just for myself, do i have to still pay the £80 activation fees as everything is still set up as it is, still have the router and everything

yes you'll have to pay the setup costs to start a new 30 day contract.
The hub should of been returned when the old account was closed. It will of been removed from the system and can't be used now
