Disconnecting the TiVo cables drops my internet

Hi

i have recently stopped having tv with Virgin but I still have internet.

Virgin have sent the returns box for my TiVo unit and it says in the instructions “a really important step is to disconnect the cable from the wall and cap it off with the supplied caps”. When I do that the internet drops.
can I confirm that you only disconnect from the wall if you require no services from virgin anymore? It doesn’t really makes sense to me to disconnect and cap at the wall if I still have internet with virgin...

 thanks

If you had both TV and BB then you will have a splitter unit.
You need to find this - it's a small rectangular box that has three cables attached.

You need to find the cable that was attached to your TV box, remove that and place the 'cap' on that output from the splitter.
