DC voltage UPS for Hub 4

SlackAunt

Has anybody managed to get their Hub 4 running with a battery backup / 12V DC UPS?

I have a mains UPS for my PC which is great, but it strikes me that having a 240V AC UPS for the router is a waste of energy because it gets converted to 12V DC anyway. If you could get a UPS to output the right voltage, bypassing the external power brick, it would last far longer in any power cut.

Obviously I've tried Googling, and there are a few very dodgy-sounding things on Amazon, but I don't want to blow up my router right now!

What would be the point in running the hub by 12V for longer if your PC by UPS will die? maybe you still have wifi for phone but still. I just plug it in the UPS.

A 12v UPS would be a battery.

Your only problem is finding the DC connecter

And then you'd find that when the mains failed the street cabinet went down so you'd have no use for the Hub anyway.
