Contractor damaged main cable in garden, possibly affecting other properties too.

  • I’m having work done in my garden and the contractor has pulled up a couple of cables with his digger and one must be our virgin service as we’ve lost this.

  • one cable is in a green duct and the other is a fairly heavy duty screened concentric single core cable which has completely broken.

  • I’ve tried all the usual virgin tel numbers but can’t manage to speak to anyone to report this.

  • can anyone help to report this promptly?

Many thanks.

Can you post some pictures of this damage? That may certainly help.

150 from a VM phone, 0345 4541111 from any other phone. Choose the options for "I have a fault" and then ignore all further prompts (or inducements to get a weblink). Wait on the line, and the queue should beckon.

It looks like the duct has been stretched so the cables are likely damaged within the duct.
a couple of other cables were pulled out too including a concentric cable which I’m assuming is a power cable. Scottish power have been informed.
