Connecting to Telewest Broadcand socket

Was told there was a line for Virgin into my house and all I see is the socket below, when which I had to use the spanner to remove. I don't want to force the new wall socket cable in the Quickstart kit and break something important - any tips?

Very frustrating that Virgin doesn't have any guidance for older sockets, which I'm assuming this is.

Re: Connecting to Telewest Broadcand socket

Yes it is the correct socket (Telewest merged with NTL which then rebranded as Virgin). The newer ones should still use the same diameter threads.

The kit you have been given has push-on connectors that should push over the exposed thread of the old connector. If it does not push on then you will need tech assistance.
