Connecting a vcr player

I am trying to play old vcr tapes from a vcr player onto my tv. I have connected the player directly into the tv using a scary cable and I have sound but no picture, I'm presuming there needs to be a connection through the tivo box too but not sure? Completely out of my debt here and would be grateful for any advice. Thank you

Re: Connecting a vcr player

You need a better spec Scart Lead.

If the VCR has an HDMI Socket use an HDMI lead instead of the Scart.

Re: Connecting a vcr player

Hi you don't connect via a virgin TV box, scart direct from your player to the TV is the way, you don't need the tivo powered up just leave on standby, on the TV input settings (a square box with an arrow through it) you should find AV 1 or perhaps scart click on that it should connect you with your DVD player.
