Clanking manhole cover

I have reported a clanking, damaged manhole cover to Virgin by phone, web form, whatsapp chat and a notice from my local authority, and I have had no reply or change.

Any suggestions for how to escalate this. It's driving the whole street potty!.

Re: Clanking manhole cover

Post a close-up picture of the cover to help identify whose responsibility this actually is.

Identity should be apparent from what is "impressed" into the cover.

Re: Clanking manhole cover

VM has pavement covers with CATV on them. These covers are not typically in locations where they can be legally driven over.

The blue cross is new and seems rather promising - I assume it means *someone* is doing something?!

It was the highways department in the local council which referred me on to VM (the exact wording was that it was VM 'equipment' which was causing the problem

Re: Clanking manhole cover

I'm with Roger.. I am not aware that VM has any duct covers actually sited in any road and being driven over (happy to be corrected)

They are all usually in the pavements with NTL, Telewest, Nynex... etc. stamped into them.

Your cover is the bog standard Pam InterA manhole cover used on manholes supplied for the utility companies, sewerage etc.

In any case a blue cross is a hopeful sign 🙂

Re: Clanking manhole cover

Blue markings are usually for water.
