You need an 11mm spanner to undo the connectors. Either that or a pair of pliers, grips etc.
Fit the tool to the hexagonal part of the connector. Turn anti-clockwise to undo the connector. Apply a light force to begin with and gradually increase until the connector begins to come off. If the connectors have been on there for a long time they may well be very stiff to turn.
Remove either the LHS or RHS connector from the splitter. The new style connectors from the Quick Start kit are just push fit and can push onto the splitter socket.
