Cable my street

Hi there. I have been a Virgin broadband customer since they were Telewest. Now I am moving to a house that is not cabled but I know that the road is cabled as the houses opposite - on the other side of the road - are cabled from their pavement, and the houses on my side around the corner, are also cabled. My post code seems to be specific to my terrace of three cottages and only has "half fibre" option available at the moment. The drop from 600mbs to 34mbs is not something I want to happen. I was told when I phoned about this several weeks ago that a Virgin spotter would look into it but no news so far either good or bad and I do not want to commit to an 18 month contract with SKY or BT paying almost the same for a much thinner package if suddenly I hear positive news from Virgin. the post code is GU32 2AZ.

Hopefully you can get an official answer from Virginmedia in due course, but from what you have said it doesn't look hopeful. They will only connect you if they can make a profit from you. Digging up a road and repairing it costs thousands of pounds, and a long run of pavement digging not much less.

How many years would it take for them to get this investment back?

My name is NOT Alessandro. That's just a tag Virginmedia sticks on some contributors. Please ignore it.
