CATV manhole cover and cable inside but postcode checker says no service available at the address

We moved to a rural location last year and I have found a CATV cover with a cut cable inside on the property - likely from NTL days. The rest of the village has Virgin available but my address does not.
Is it likely that service can be connected or is it best to ignore?
Contacted online "chat" but they didn't know and only had access to the same online postcode checker.
