I leave my broadband hub switched on 24/7 but is that best or should I shut it down at the wall socket occasionally, especially if I am going away for a week or two?

Thanks for your post and welcome to the community.
With regards to this, we always send updates to our Hub's so we do advise to keep a steady online time.
However I would advise to give the box a reboot after a long standing time of being online to ensure the service is okay.
