BT phone socket

Hi, we are looking at getting Virgin Media changing from Now TV. The outside socket and cable socket are both already Virgin Media but the phone socket is BT. Does anyone know if this will be a problem? Thank you

Re: BT phone socket

Hi,

The BT phone socket can be used with any other provider except Virgin Media.

For Virgin Media connection you should have a white plate/ box on the internal wall. If you have a box outside see if there is a coaxial cable (like the tv aerial cable) coming out of there and where does it lead to. That will be connection you can use for both broadband and TV box.

If I've helped in any way, please give me Kudos and mark my response as a helpful answer!

Fancy £50 off your bill? Ask me how and you might just get it!

Rob

Re: BT phone socket

Hi, yes the cable socket and outside socket are exactly like the pictures we were told to check when we were about to check out. It’s just the phone socket that is different. Does this mean we will be ok as the phone socket doesn’t get used? Thank you

Re: BT phone socket

Your VM phone works by being plugged into the back of the Hub which provides your broadband service as well. So yes you will be all right. Read the helpfile I linked you too for more details.
