Activation date pushed a month

Hello all,

So i decided to post my story here in case you have any valuable advise for me while i wait. I got a new house and decided to have VM since in the past the connection was rock solid with them. On December 8th i subscribed with them for M125. It was to start on December 30th. An engineer had to come around the 15th to do external work and when they arrived they told me cabling was required as there was never done in the past and reported it. Someone was to come on the 20th to do it but nobody arrived. On the 24th they moved my activation to January 28th. When i asked them why after numerous calls i was told that external contractors need to come and they don't know when they will come as they dont have access to their schedules. I told them again and again that i work from home and need Internet but nothing they could do. A pre installation member also told me they escalated the case but nothing happened of course. So i am stuck waiting for someone to come and lay the cabling some time between now and January 28 and pray they come early and then call and ask for faster activation as they mentioned they can probably do this. I dont know what else to do. Any advise will be appreciated.

A familiar tale these days. See this for some info...

The current VM installation process is badly managed when things aren’t straightforward and cable re-pulls are needed. So dont bother chasing it. Just let the installation play out. Do nothing. You will pay nothing (£0) until a VM connection is actually installed and activated. And even from then (if it gets that far) you have 14 days in which to cancel - again with no costs. Or keep it if you like it after those 14 days

In the meantime, can you connect to OR, Sky, BT etc - or to a 4G/5G service - perhaps on a 30-day contract? Three recently had a 30-day 4G unlimited package for ~£20. If so, do it now and just let the VM install run its course. As said, you will pay nothing until VM's service is installed and operational. When it finally happens, you have 14 days in which to cancel it at no cost to yourself and keep the other service. Or, if VM is working to your satisfaction, keep it and cancel the other service (hence better if you took a 30-day contract).

Good Afternoon @yuwon44, thanks for your post on our Community Forums, and a very warm welcome to you!

Sorry to hear of the issues with the date of the installation being pushed back to due to the outside work needing to be completed.

Check out the purple envelope in the top right hand corner for a private message from me, and I'll see if I can find out any further information for you.

Kindest regards,
