Long story short I have issues with my Superhub 2 so have requested a Superhub 3 to be sent out. This could take a week. So in the meantime I got a Superhub 3 from a friend who no longer uses it. Phoned to activate it and was told I had to wait for one to be sent as it would be assigned to my account and I should then phone back to activate that one.
Is this true? I’m not convinced all hubs are specifically assigned to an account be

Yes true. VM rents the kit to the account holders. Your friend should have returned the hub back to VM. They are “paired” to the account holder.
