360 Box Installation Problem

Hi, just accepted an upgrade to include a TV package. My TV and 360 Box is at the opposite end of my bungalow to my Virgin modem. I didn't appreciate and I was not made aware that they had to be connected with a coaxial cable for live TV to work.

Is my best course of action to get this sorted, to book an engineer. Is this an extra cost?

Coincidently, I have a Sky cable already running that distance which could be used if it is compatible?

I do not want to lose any signal quality with having such a long coaxial cable?

Is there an upgrade 360 box that does not need a coaxial cable?

Many thanks for any help

No, it should not be extra cost as you are installing a new service. Phone up & ask for a manned install, as self install is not suitable.

No it won't. Virgin frequency share with other services like Digital Radio & Mobile phone networks. Their specialised cable is designed to stop these signals ingressing onto their network & disrupting services.

Part of the manned install will involve rebalancing your levels, which is carried out at the street cabinet.

You can opt for Virgin Stream, but that is all it does. It streams live channels & app content. There are no recording facilities as there are with V360.

Many thanks for any help

Thank you for your reply. First engineer just recommended stream and that was that. When calling again he had put on my record customer did not want cable ran around the bungalow. Put that down to it raining hard when he visited.  Second engineer much more helpful, ran a cable and all works well.

Thanks for the update @Davest4s55555
