So this is my 2nd time writing this, since this lousy 4G wifi disconnected before I clicked post..
I moved home end of Aug and took my virgin media package with me, and chose to keep my landline number.
Since then my install keeps getting delayed because they need to do the works outside
Then they finally came and did the works outside, got a sweet little grid like the rest of the street
Then they delayed again because they needed to do the works outside (??)
They collected my router early on, I'm not sure why
Sent me a 4G wifi thingy with a £0 contract back in Nov, practically useless, at least now I can watch Netflix in caveman quality on my 4k TV (😂)
I kept being told to install the Virgin app to check appointments and orders etc, but it's never once shown anything.
I've had 5 install dates now. The last one on 23rd Dec, they didn't even delay, just didn't show up and complete radio silence. No new install date.
I've just noticed some feedback requests from Virgin (emails) since 'I recently cancelled some of my services with them', of course, I've done no such thing.
Can they cancel my install and not even tell me?
What happens with the 4G wifi? Am I expected to start paying for this junk or does it just abruptly cut off at some point, leaving me hanging?
Most importantly, what's happened to my landline number? I'm on long waiting lists tied to that number, nvm I need it for work (not that I've been able to work without net)
Anyone know what's going on here?
Any help from mods or advice from anyone really, would be muchly appreciated
Thanks, Red

Some past topics on here have described VM unilaterally cancelling installations but without telling the waiting customer.
You will be entitled to some level of compensation while you have been waiting
with updated rates here
Are you able to log into 'My Virgin Media' to check for any further appointments (rather than the app)?

Make sure you keep records of every date promised as evidence for the compensation you are due. And the compensation will continue until they tell you they are cancelling, providing you don't cancel first, which you mustn't do.
If they claim that you have cancelled they will have to show evidence - phone calls are recorded so hopefully you didn't say anything like that.
Your phone number shouldn't be affected until Virgin have taken over the service.

I am in the same situation as you, and we are two people working from home so they will have ours in their conscience (but I do not think they have any) if we get fired because of this (as we already received a notice regarding this). If you contact them, they always repeat the same **bleep**ty song made of false promises and **bleep**s.

OK, deep breath, think logically. VM can't be relied upon, what's plan B?
Step 1, If you're at risk of being sacked, then arrange a fix to get yourself connected - blag a connection for a couple of weeks via a neighbour, or go out and buy a 4G mobile router and SIM card, move in with a friend or relative, or persuade a colleague to let you work from their home....do whatever it takes to avoid getting fired, even if this is a stop gap. Contact your boss, explain that you've fixed the connection problem.
Step 2, speak to Citizens Advice about your employment rights.
Step 3, if step 1 is only temporary, order a more reliable connection service. Openreach connections might be slow, but they're normally good on installing in two weeks.
Step 4, come back here, and we'll explain how to give VM a well deserved pasting through the complaints and adjudication system. You may well be due significant compensation (VM often attempt to evade even that regulatory obligation) but compensation of a few quid per day won't help much if you're fired.

Something already running along similar lines here but ...
