14 day delay while an existing account is closed

Hi there,

Like many posts I have seen on this forum, I am in the process of purchasing a new home and want Virgin Media to supply internet to the property.

As the current owners also have VM as their provider I am greeted by the following message before completing my purchase:

"A Virgin Media account already exists at this address, so we will need to delay sending your kit for 14 days while we close this account."

Due to the current working from home situation, this will be too long of a wait. Is there something that can be done regarding this, to expedite this process?

The already have the connection set up, I will just need a Quick Start kit sent to me.

I do indeed!

I was contacted yesterday by Virgin Media to arrange my order and initiate a close of contract with the previous owners.
