wi fi network

Hi all,

My mobile when searching for available networks often switches to "virgin media" after originally connecting to my virgin network number.

Can someone tell how this "virgin media " network appeared and how to stop and get rid of it?

Re: wi fi network

It’s the WiFi hotspot that vm provide on your broadband for other vm customers. You can opt out somewhere in My Virgin Media though if this forum is anything to go by, the opt out is broken.

other option is to buy your own router and put the hub into modem mode.

Re: wi fi network

opt out of VM public WiFi hotspot in you account
https://my.virginmedia.com/home/signIn

or use modem mode because VM underestimated how many people want to opt out and can't.

Re: wi fi network

Opting out won't help if the Virgin Media connection you are picking up is from a neighbouring VM set up.
