Re: voip phone

I use one on voip so I would expect so if you have the right lead. Hub 3 isnt strictly voip but I believe the principle is the same

You plug the VM adapter (RJ11 plug to BT socket, which VM should supply you with) into TEL1 on the back of the Hub 3, then plug your phone into the adapter. This arrangement is designed to behave like a normal telephone socket for use with an ordinary telephone.

do I require a special lead for the phone to connect to the Hub 3?

Re: voip phone

VM should supply you with the adapter, which is shown in the bottom LHS photo on this page, with the phone lead plugged into it

https://www.virginmedia.com/help/home-phone-line-faults

Should also add though that the hub needs to be set up in this way by VM to deliver the landline service via the hub.

Are you an existing customer or a new one or just thinking of joining?

Re: voip phone

Virgin never sent me the adapter but they are easy to get as are the leads. RJ11 to RJ45

eg https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/383004139335?chn=ps&var=651637382490&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=710-134428-4...

Re: voip phone

A lead with RJ45 won't connect the phone to the hub. TEL1 connection on the back of the hub is RJ11. The adapter is usually the most reliable way to avoid any issues with the internal wiring of the phone cables but does look a bit unsightly.
