poor broandband speeds upstairs

Hi,

Getting consistently poor speeds of around 35 Mb download upstairs office whereas downstairs hub 3.0 is good at 200 (on package M200). Only a small house - no thick walls etc. Using a BT wifi extender 1200 which claims works with all broadband providers and it is showing "good range".

Any advice offered to improve?

Re: poor broandband speeds upstairs

Your extender is not very good, you could look at getting a mesh system if you need more speed

Is it this one?

https://shop.bt.com/content/uni2/documentation/b15p/11ac_dual-band_wi-fi_extender_1200_user_guide.pd...

It uses the 2.4Ghz band by default and there is a switch to change it to 5Ghz, which is faster but less range.

Thanks for your reply Carl but just can't open that link, for some reason.

Re: poor broandband speeds upstairs

It was indeed that, Carl.

Have done the necessary and speed increased nicely.

Thank you very much indeed as never realised that could be the reason.
