m5 Deco's and Access Point Mode

Hi all,

I was curious if anyone has there M5 Decos connected in Access Point mode? was speaking to a friend and they suggested to do that to avoid double NATing issues.

I have already setup my decos in wireless router mode, but when i change it to Access Point mode it shows up saying "no internet".

Ive tried the standard reboots, but was curious if anyone had any ideas?

cheers all

Matt

Re: m5 Deco's and Access Point Mode

Keep them in router mode but change the hub to modem mode.

Re: m5 Deco's and Access Point Mode

if the hub is in modem mode then only the one Deco node can be connected to the hubs Ethernet port - all other Ethernet connections need to be made via the Deco.

Re: m5 Deco's and Access Point Mode

Hello

If the hub is in modem mode then there are no issues with double nat's as all traffic in modem mode is sent to the first deco, which is where you would place any firewall rules for port forwarding.

Not if the hub’s in modem mode, no.

If you have both the hub and deco in router mode then yes there will be.
