intermittent wifi and a Solid green light when it drops out

Hi,

I have been getting intermittent WI-Fi drop-out for a while now but doesnt seem to be quite the same as others and as my partner and I are working from home I am hoping someone knows how to fix this.

It varies from day to day but is becoming more frequent that the WI-FI is dropping out, devices connected by cable are fine.

I don't think this is a signal issue as when the wi-fi connection drops out I get the solid green wi-fi light on the hub which suggests to me the problem is originating there and after about 10 minutes the connection is back.

I have followed through the online help but after doing the factory reset the help stops there but the problem continues.

I should mention that I have previously had problems the same coupled with an overheating hub (constant red light) so the hub was replaced but the wifi dropping out has continued.

I am getting errors showing on the logs as well.

I really dont want to have to call them up again as it is such a nightmare to get anyone to think outside their scripted knowledge base.

Please help

Re: intermittent wifi and a Solid green light when it drops out

Try a factory reset the Hub using this exact method ...

DO NOT DO THIS if the password on the base of the Hub is not legible or missing.

Instructions for Hub 3

Disconnect all unneeded ethernet cables from the rear of the Hub.

With the Hub Powered on use a paperclip or similar (I use a mobile phone SIM Slot tool) and do a pinhole reset.

Depress the pinhole switch for a timed 60 seconds then release.

DO NOT reboot the hub but allow it 5 to 10 minutes for it to boot itself up.

Once a steady white and no other lights are illuminated check your system again.

Re: intermittent wifi and a Solid green light when it drops out

OK did the reset as suggested, just unplugged all the ethernet cables in the end while it reset.

the lights went off, all flashed red and all flashed green after the 60 seconds then i released the button but I am not sure it actually did reset.

The time before I reset it holding the reset button for 10 seconds and it reset the password to default but this time it didn't and was still set to what i had set it to.

does that sound right?

Re: intermittent wifi and a Solid green light when it drops out

Experiencing the same issue. It happens every couple of hours. Also tried the reset instructions, which have done nothing.

The wifi light turns solid green for around 30 seconds, then starts flashing at inconsistent rates before turning off and the wifi restarting. It's been happening like this for quite a while now but is not bearable as we are now back in lockdown and relying on the wifi.

Re: intermittent wifi and a Solid green light when it drops out

I tried the reset above again as the first time as it didn't actually reset the password and second time round it did reset everything and it has been 2 days without problem which is a good sign.
