Hi,

I have the TP Link Deco X68 connected to a Virgin Media Hub 3 (changed to modem mode). It works great with the other 2 Decos. However, I have just taken delivery of a Virgin Media Hub5 Wi-fi 6 would you suggest putting this Hub 5 into modem mode as well? Thanks

Do you have Gig1?

I would suggest yes to modem mode on the HUB 5 considering your Deco is also WiFi-6.

Yes Gig 1

In that case the only downside is being limited to around 940Mbps across all your devices, rather than the full 1130Mbps (ish), due to the 1Gbps Ethernet ports on your Deco.

The HUB 5 has one 2.5Gbps port to allow third party routers and mesh systems with 2.5Gbps Ethernet to take full advantage of the Gig1 speeds.

So would you still put the hub 5 in modem mode Carl and have the Decos in a different mode?

Personally I would say yes, put the HUB 5 in modem mode.

You'll lose some speed, however will make up for in reliability.
