Zoom crashes my SuperHub!

As I'm sure many of you have recently, we've started using Zoom to bring together various communities. However, often this causes our SuperHub to stop responding, dropping the call and everything else that's going on in the house. Restarting the hub seems to be the only solution.

It's a SuperHub 2ac (Software Version   "V2.01.15", Hardware Version   1.03) and it's in modem mode; we use Orbi for WiFi.

This only seems to be caused by Zoom. I use GoToMeeting all the time for my work with no problems and we regularly use FaceTime and other high bandwidth applications.

I don't see any options to configure while in modem mode, but I'm happy to be proved wrong. Are there settings in Zoom that might help?

I appreciate that this is probably just a bug and it needs a software update or a new hub, but right now I'm really hoping there are workarounds that can make it more reliable.

Any help or suggestions appreciated.

Re: Zoom crashes my SuperHub!

We have an Orbi system (Netgear mesh WiFi and router). That stays up throughout.

Re: Zoom crashes my SuperHub!

Can you try it using a direct connection with a Cat 5E/6 cable between the Hub and a 1Gbs capable Pc/Mac/Chromebook and no other items connected ?

Re: Zoom crashes my SuperHub!

That's going to be pretty disruptive but I'll have a go when I get the chance. Thanks for your help.

Re: Zoom crashes my SuperHub!

You have to take as many possible problems out of the system to start proving where the problem lies.

Re: Zoom crashes my SuperHub!

I do understand! I'm also trying to make the call on an iPad instead of Mac to see if that makes any difference. Clearly it shouldn't but...

Re: Zoom crashes my SuperHub!

Same experience here. I have a Draytek Vigor2860 with the SuperHub in modem mode.

Versions same as yours:

Software Version   "V2.01.15"
Hardware Version   1.03

@sdarlington, did you make any progress on this?

Re: Zoom crashes my SuperHub!

Mike, if the hub's in modem mode, how's this going to work? What's going to give out a local IP address to the device plugged directly into the hub when it's in modem mode?
