WiFi dropping constantly

WiFi keeps dropping consistently throughout the day. Have re started the box. Am streaming from phone and the signal drops.

Do some Wi-Fi housekeeping

  • Try using a free Wi-Fi analyser app and see if that shows anything
  • What devices?
  • Which hub?
  • How far from hub?
  • Any neighbouring hub on same channel?  Change channels
  • Device drivers all up to date?
  • Any interference sources?  Microwave oven?
  • Are wired connections OK?
  • Get own router with hub in modem mode

I know a bit about Wi-Fi, Telecoms, and TV as I used to do it for a living but I'm not perfect so don't beat me up... If you make things you make mistakes!

Is it only WiFi that's dropping?

The WiFi switches off completely and disconnects.

I ran a WiFi check using an app and it said

Ping 28.5ms, Download 46.98mbps, upload 10.86mbps. Signal is normal.

I am unsure if having an old box would be the cause. I still have a hub that says UPC?
