WiFi To Outside Shed

Hi,

I've a new shed!

There's a Cat6 cable connected to the back of my Virgin router (already in modem mode as I have Eero in the house).

That Cat6 cable runs all the way to a new plug in the shed.

Question is what do I connect to that plug to access the same wifi network as the house?

A secondary router, a wifi access point, a new Eero with an Ethernet port?

Which one?!!

Thanks for suggestions.

J

Keep the VM hub in modem mode. Purchase a small 5 port network switch, should not cost more than £15. Remove the device that is connected to the Eero, connect it to the switch, connect the switch to the Eero and finally connect the outside shed cable to the switch. Now you can plug a new Eero box into the cable in the shed.

This will do the job nicely - its plug and play.

Just plug it into the spare Eero port (assuming it has one !) if not get one that has - or put the Hub into router mode and use the eero in bridge mode (I assume you can?) with this WAP plugged into the Hub

I do not work for VM. My services: HD TV on VIP (+ Sky Sports & Movies & BT sport), x3 V6 boxes (1 wired, 2 on WiFi) Hub5 in modem mode with Apple Airport Extreme Router +2 Airport Express's. On Volt 350Mbps, Talk Anytime Phone, x2 Mobile SIM only iPhones.

Thanks.

i should have mentioned I don't have a spare Eero port, one is connected to the router already, the other is being used by a Hive.

So what I just have is that new Cat6 cable going from the back of the router, down the side of the house, down the garden and  into a new port in the shed.

My idea was to get a new Eero router to plug directly into that new port in the shed in the hope it must know that I'm on the same house network coming off the main house router but don't want to shell out on something if I have it completely wrong :-?

thanks again!
