Wi-Fi still not working with hub and 2 pods

Emily2712

I have been using virgin Wi-Fi for 3 years now and my son still can’t get a decent connection in his bedroom. It’s not a huge house! We have been given 2 pods, which helped slightly with his gaming (still lags a bit). Now we have found that he can’t connect his fire stick to his tv because there is no network connection, even though the signal strength is good. So sick of this! The pods are a nightmare. Surely something can be done. I feel like we are wasting our money with Virgin. I haven’t long upgraded for a better speed and I see no improvements whatsoever.

Thanks for your reply. Do you have any suggestions on what I could get? I am not tech savvy!

Depending on what budget you have there is a huge choice of third party kit.

Something like the below is a good starting point:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Deco-M4-Seamless-Coverage-Replacement/dp/B07NH1J543

You also have the choice of 'renewed' if you aren't bothered about being brand new:

Maybe time to invest in your own kit rather than rely on cheap rented hardware.

This is exactly what would be see if the VM Connect app had been used to apply WiFi Pausing.

Thanks for your reply. Nothing is paused in the app

Sorry for my lack of knowledge but how would another router help? In place of the virgin one I have do you mean?

What I linked to, or purchasing a third party router of any type, effectivley replaces all functions of the VM HUB and pods, other than the internet connection.

There is something called modem mode which allows you to move all other features, including wireless, to your own device:
