Weak Wifi upstair and garden/outside

Currently on M250 package and Hub3 and with Virgin more than 10 years. Hub positions at living room where Virgin cable is. Can't see where else in the house will make a big difference on signal.

Can I upgrade to Hub5 without upgrade my package? Can I use WiFi Pods through the house with Hub3? How much does it cost for each pod?

Any other options? I am using Powerline adapters at moment.

Thanks in advance

Regards

I doubt if you will get a hub 5 as they are primarily for 1Gb users.  The Pods are £8pm for up to three, unless you are on a top tier or a VOLT user.   You could also think about getting the Hub repositioned for £25.

Hi ausdragon

Thank you for your post and welcome to our community.

We are sorry to hear about the WiFi issues you are having.

You would need to upgrade the broadband speed to Gig1 to be eligible for a Hub 5 upgrade.

Our WiFi pods are compatible with the hub 3.

There is more information here for you

If your WiFi speeds are dropping below our guarantee, you will be able to order a pod via the connect app.

If you have any issues or have any further questions, please pop back to us here and we would be happy to help.

Thanks for the replies.

Will contact Virgin and sort it out. Nice to know what's the options are.

If this was too much for you to read then move on to something else, stop with such unhelpful response. Use you time wisely. What an idiot.

Thanks for coming back to us ausdragon, have you been able to speak to the team or do you need further assistance here on the forums?

I would suggest you do not pay the rental for pods as it’s a continuing monthly payment, but invest in one or two good quality wireless access point wired into the hub3. I use WAPs, albeit with my own router, and get excellent WiFi coverage over the whole house and right down to the end of the garden even on the 5Gb band. I would never use powerline adapters as they can be problematic.
