WIFI PROBLEMS IDENTIFIED ON NETWORK SCAN. LOTS OF LOW SIGNALS AND WIFI KEEPS DROPPING

WIFI PROBLEMS IDENTIFIED ON NETWORK SCAN. LOTS OF LOW SIGNALS AND WIFI KEEPS DROPPING

Hi there

I am new to Virgin. Just signed up for the broadband for increased speeds.

I’m a skyQ user.

Since installation various problems with WPS not turning off ( constant flashing light) and devices dropping off the network.

When it works it works but the constant drops in service are causing major issues.

Re: WIFI PROBLEMS IDENTIFIED ON NETWORK SCAN. LOTS OF LOW SIGNALS AND WIFI KEEPS DROPPING

If you have skq Q mini boxes then the main SKY Q unit will connect to the Wifi on the 2.4Ghz band to the Hub. The Sky Q units set up a private network on 5Ghz between themselves which you should see on 5ghz wifi somewhere arount 34, 36, 38 etc not into the Hundreds though.

If you have scanned and have skyQ mini boxes then look at the 2.4Ghz band only. Normall you will find the channel 1,3,6,9 and poss 11 are the ones mainly used. If you stand next to the Hub you should see your WiFi as the one with the highest peak, that should correspond to the channels above.  Normally the HUB will change to a channel that is the least used to give you the best bservice.

This is really to give you a better insite into what you are seeing.

With you original information there is not enough info to really assis you further without more information

Regards

KK

Re: WIFI PROBLEMS IDENTIFIED ON NETWORK SCAN. LOTS OF LOW SIGNALS AND WIFI KEEPS DROPPING

Stats are a tad off there.

I would wait for a mod or tech to confirm though.

Re: WIFI PROBLEMS IDENTIFIED ON NETWORK SCAN. LOTS OF LOW SIGNALS AND WIFI KEEPS DROPPING

Thanks. I will wait and see who responds.

reading other threads I’m wondering I’d the skyq is clashing with the hub. Signal is brilliant 1 minute and terrible (or not working at all) the next.
