Virgin media boosters and MacBook

Is there any reason why an ethernet connection works perfectly well on Windows laptop via a Virgin Media booster, but just won't for a MacBook Pro? On preferences it shows the LAN connection is there, but just doesn't seem to work - like it's not connected to the internet.

The MacBook works perfectly well via Ethernet directly into the Hub, so is there anything different I should be looking out for?

Re: Virgin media boosters and MacBook

Not sure but the mantra in these situations is "DNS".

Someone who knows more should comment soon about what needs changing on the MBP.
