Virgin Media Connect App on new iPhone

I have just upgraded my iPhone. I previously had the wifi configuration profile set up on my old phone, and it hasn't been transferred as part of the upgrade. However, I cannot set up the configuration profile again with the virgin media connect app is it just flashes up with an error message that says "Unable to use this profile address". It shows for a fraction of a second and then disappears.

This is a deeply frustrating user experience and means I can't connect to wifi hotspots.

The app seems to think that the profile is already installed but cannot install it again. It certainly doesn't show in the iPhone settings.

Please help!

Re: Virgin Media Connect App on new iPhone

The Connect App seems to have more bugs than a tramps vest.

My advice ...

Uninstall the Connect App.

Reboot your phone.

Forget about the app.

Reboot the Hub.

DO NOT reboot the hub but allow it 5 to 10 minutes for it to boot itself up.

Once a steady white and no other lights are illuminated check your system again.

Save your sanity and health still forget about the Connect App.

Use the Hub GUI at 192.168.0.1 in your browser to make Hub Settings changes.

Re: Virgin Media Connect App on new iPhone

Thanks for your reply Mike - but I don't want to touch my home hub, I simply want to "download wifi profile" so I can access wifi out and about, i.e. other hotspots

This is the error message that flashes up very briefly... it's hard even to get that image as it goes away again immediately

Re: Virgin Media Connect App on new iPhone

OK.

Fully uninstall the app.

Reboot the Hub.

Install the App from a fresh download from the Apple Store.

Re: Virgin Media Connect App on new iPhone

I've deleted/restarted/reinstalled a couple of times and it's the same old story.

The iphone settings shows no profiles but there are their root certificates still hanging around...

Do VM staff read the forum? Or is there another route to support?

Re: Virgin Media Connect App on new iPhone

You need to uninstall the app.

Reboot the phone.

Download and re-install.

Deleting doesn't take it off the phone.

Re: Virgin Media Connect App on new iPhone

OK, thanks. How do I uninstall it in that case? I only see one option to delete the app and that is what I have tried!

Re: Virgin Media Connect App on new iPhone

You will have to ask Apple or someone that knows their way round an iPhone.
