Tuning in

Hi, just recently had an engineer out to fix dropouts out but to no avail. Checked the Hitron's DOCSIS logs and get loads of Error and Correctable/Uncorrectable faults with speeds dropping during the day.

Here are some of the logs:

The actual cables already been replaced as it was a new install.

How many other consumers are connected to the same street cabinet?

My name is NOT Alessandro. That's just a tag Virginmedia sticks on some contributors. Please ignore it.

This the engineer won't tell me but as the engineer told me, the cabinet's been outgrown and is too small for how many customers are connected to it, together with the 2 broken coax ports

In that case you may be about to find some other problems of an overloaded cabinet . I don't know if you could get a BQM test to work with the Hitron but it would be worth a try.

I do already have two BQM's setup (one for the GRE connection for the static ip's and one for the main non-static IP:

Well there you have it. Severe packet loss at 4pm today, and smaller amounts at other times.

No wonder you are getting dropouts, this connection is not fit for purpose.
