Virgin Hub 3 Red Power Light

My Hub 3 was replaced in February 2020. 

All has been fine until a few weeks ago when the power light developed an orange tint. This has progressed and is now sometimes red, sometimes orange.

I believe that means the hub is overheating, however it is in exactly the same place as my hub has been for years and I have never had an issue before.

The hub is comfortably warm to touch.

Wifi speed is unaffected and 19 out of 20 times shows speeds in excess of 200 mbps. 

Rebooting makes no difference.

Is this a faulty hub?

Doesn't appear faulty considering you get full speed. You would know if it's red as it's very distinctive

It starts orange in the morning and as the day progresses it turns the same red as the standby light on my Virgin TV box.

Try this ...

Unless you need it on overnight, switch the Hub off as early as possible in the evening / night using the switch on the back and leave it switched off overnight.

See how it goes.

Well, worth a try.

It was unplugged for about 11 hours.

Plugged it in this morning, power light immediately pink and after 10  minutes red again (apart from flashing green whilst going through boot up procedures, as it should).

Still working fine though.
