Virgin Booster red light on permanently

Hi, first time post,

Tried searching for guidance on our Virgin Boosters. I can see feedback that the boosters need pairing when they flash red, but ours are showing red permanently. Anybody else get this and know what this means? Our wireless signal is poor though the boosters are showing on the Connect App, albeit advising to order more boosters when we already have 2.

Thanks for any help or direction to another post.

Re: Virgin Booster red light on permanently

Hi there

Do they flash even after pairing them when they are in the same room?

It sounds like they either:

A - Haven't been paired up properly

B - The wifi booster is on a separate ring main to the small one (which is hardwired into modem).

Take a look on here as it should help you get them installed.

Thanks

Christy

Re: Virgin Booster red light on permanently

Thanks for you reply.

On A, I have attached a screenshot from the Connect App and you can see the 2 boosters are connected to devices, so i assume must be working. Would an upgrade to Hub 4 help?

On B, how do you know if your house has separate ring mains?

Many thanks

Re: Virgin Booster red light on permanently

No an “upgrade” to a Hub4 certainly wouldn’t help.

You’d need to get an electrician to check your wiring.

Re: Virgin Booster red light on permanently

I would plug them into different mains sockets in the same room first of all and see if they're still flashing red. If they are then I would look at repairing/syncing them again.

Once they have stopped flashing red in the same room, I would then take the wifi booster and plug it into a different mains socket in a different room.

If it starts flashing red again then that would indicate the problem is the ring main.

Different ring mains tend to be on extensions, loft conversion etc.

Thanks

Christy

Re: Virgin Booster red light on permanently

Thanks Christy,

I will try switching to different plugs, but currently the red light is permanent - see attached photo.

Re: Virgin Booster red light on permanently

Hi gusscott,

Thank you for your reply and for trying all the suggestions from the Community.

I have taken a look from our side and have not identified anything could be causing this issue.

Are you still experiencing the problem with the light appearing on equipment or have there been any changes since your last post?

Let me know and I will be happy to assist further.

Thanks
