VPN Issues on Virgin Media

Hi All,

I have been working from home and in order to access my work drives, I need to connect to my Cisco Anyconnect Work VPN. The issue with using VPN is that the internet keeps on dropping and if I am on Zoom calls I have to disconnect the VPN but then I lose access to my drives. None of my colleagues have to use VPN to connect to their drives and if I use my Vodafone Hotspot or any other WIFI, I can get into the drives straight away. Is there a solution or change in settings I can do on my Virgin Media Hub to solve this issue?

Re: VPN Issues on Virgin Media

Are you sure none of your colleagues have to use VPN to get to their work drives?

How are they accessing them exactly?

Re: VPN Issues on Virgin Media

Thanks for your reply. So we also have a software called Zscaler installed. The process for my colleagues is:

1) Authenticate Zscaler

2) Run the Map my old drives Script

And they have access to everything.

For me and only on the Virgin Media Network, I have to do the following:

1) Authenticate Zscaler

2) Connect to the Cisco VPN

3) Only then map my old drives script works

After that I can access my drives.

If I am on my mobile hotpot or any other wifi, I can skip step 2 i.e. connect to VPN. I am ok using VPN but for some reason the internet is intermittent especially on Zoom.

Re: VPN Issues on Virgin Media

Run hub in modem mode and try Zscaler without the VPN.

Re: VPN Issues on Virgin Media

Through the ethernet cable which was plugged into the hub. Same issue. Now I have reverted back to the router mode.
