VM causing SSL error

My personal website is showing an SSL error when using virgin media.

I've checked the site and the SSL is setup correctly, works fine on my mobile connection, when using a VPN and I've had several other people try on other ISPs with no issue either. This happens on both my iPhone and Macbok.

I've cleared all caches, tried all browsers, reset the DNS on my mac, and restored the router to default settings, and I've even turned off all adult and virus filters etc in the VM settings - same issue is still happening with the following error:

This site can’t provide a secure connection

crezocreative.com sent an invalid response.

ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR

The site itself is fine, and I've even had the hosting company check from their end, with no issues at all.

I need to get this fixed ASAP otherwise I'm going to have to move to another ISP. I need to do work on this urgently, but can currently only do this over a VPN, and if I have to pay for that just to access the site, then I may as well switch to a cheaper ISP.

Any ideas why you're blocking my site, and how to get it unblocked?

Re: VM causing SSL error

OK well that’s bizarre... just tried again now and it’s working!

Literally spent about 8 hours and was up till 4am trying all sorts to get it working yesterday.

If I’d known I just needed to sleep on it and it magically started working again Id have gone to bed hours ago 😉

I’d love to know what the actual issue was, but guess there’s no way to find out now.

Re: VM causing SSL error

Was there an actual issue or are you just advertising your site?

Re: VM causing SSL error

Well seeing as the SSL cert is only a day old. I'd guess it wasn't installed correctly or the date was wrong on the computer

Re: VM causing SSL error

it was definitely all setup correctly as like I said it was working on other networks and devices, just seemed to be an issue when connected with Virgin, and the SSL was checked out by the hosting company and all came back correctly as well.

I was up till 4am this morning trying to get it to work, and my half finished site is definitely not something I want to be promoting at this point 🤣

It’s a really odd one, as I noticed a fair few other people having issues with ssl on some specific sites with VM as well in my research.

The only thing I can think of could be down to the DNS, as I changes names severs a few days ago, and I received and email this morning to say it had gone through, even though it’s been working fine for the last few days on other networks. But I can’t really see why it would take longer to propagate on Virgin than any other ISP?

Anyway, it’s all working fine now so rant over 🤣

"But I can’t really see why it would take longer to propagate on Virgin than any other ISP?"
because you had accessed it so made the VM DNS server cache the old IP
