Upstream QAM intermittently drops to 32, upload speed reduced

Hi,

My upload speed has been fluctuating between 30 - 80Mbps for the last few days (Usually see full 104Mbps consistently).

I've seen a number of T3 timeouts and the QAM drops across all five upstream channels to 32, then back up to 64.

BQM showing packet loss also:

Unsure if it's a coincidence, however Openreach have been in the area recently running new ducting in prep for fibre, so unsure if they may have disturbed some cabling.

Checked the online service status (freephone number also) and no reports of issues.

Thanks,

Carl.

Hi Carl,

Thank you for reaching out to us, sorry to see you have been facing an intermittent connection recently, I was able to locate you on our system with the details we have for you and can see there is an issue in the area.

The fault is an SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio) this is caused by a faulty/ exposed cable making noise on the network, You might find that your Virgin Fibre, Voice and Virgin TV services are intermittent, with the picture freezing or disappearing now and then. We are sorry and our engineers are working hard to resolve this ASAP, apologies for any inconvenience caused.

This was picked up on 09/09/23, the current estimated fix time is 11/09/23 @ 18:00, you can register for updates Via your Online Account
