Upgraded to 1gig broadband but only get around 350mps download speeds

Hey

Very frustrating can never get through to anyone on chats for hours and hours. I upgraded 1 month ago to 1gig and althought the speed has increased a little from 200mps to 350mps, this is by no means the 1 gig I'm paying for.

I'm using the Hub4 in modem mode with a Netgear X6 R8000 as the router. Both have been reset numerous times and rebooted. I have cat 7 cables going between the devices and I'm at a loss for how to get this resolved.

Please help!!

Thanks

Clare

Nothing amiss there.

Are you wired direct to the Netgear?

Yes wired directly from the Netgear's internet port to the Hub4. So you think I should revert back to Netgear support and that the fault may be on that end?

Re: Upgraded to 1gig broadband but only get around 350mps download speeds

This morning I deactivated QOS on the router and tested the speed again via ethernet cable and I got around 500mps which is an improvement. Can the quality of the cables affect the speed? I have cat 7 which I got from Amazon, not a specific brand or anything.

Possibly.

If you remove the router and wire direct to the hub what speeds do you get?
